The Anti-Effect of Bio-Prepared Nano-Magnesium Oxide on Some Physical, Chemical and Biological Properties of Sewage

Abstract

Many researchers have been interested in finding simple methods to manufacture the nanoparticles that are ecologically safe and economically inexpensive; therefore, this research paper included a preparation of Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles MgO-NPs from the water extract of the green tea, where the results of the X-Rays Diffraction (XRD) and a measurement of the UV as well as the FE-SEM have proved that the nano particles have spherical shapes and sizes range from 40-80 nm, where the effect of the MgO-NPs has been studied on physical, chemical and biological properties of the sewage of Ramadi Teaching Hospital for Maternity and Pediatrics for February. The results showed a rise in the temperature values, the PH, and the dissolved Oxygen(do) after adding the MgO-NPs since the rate of their values amounted (18.6°C, 8.6, 3.3 mg/l) respectively. On the other hand, there was a remarkable reduction in the values of turbidity and BOD after adding MgO-NPs, since their values amounted (13.4 mg/l, 17.1 mg/l) respectively. The MgO-NPs also showed an anti-bacteria strong activity where its effectiveness has been proved largely in reducing the total number of bacteria in sewage.
