Investigating the Infectious Stages of Cryptosporidium and Giardia in Liquefied Water in Tikrit City with Study of Some Physical and Chemical Properties of Water
Abstract
Summary: The current study was conducted for 7 months and for the period from the beginning of November 2020 until June 2021, the study aimed to investigate the infectious stages of the parasite Giardia and its cryptosporidium in drinking water of liquefied water in some areas of Tikrit City / Salah Al-Din Governorate / Iraq, and the percentage of 2% of water pollution with the infectious stages of Cryptosporidium and 3% of the Giardia. Some chemical and physical properties of water were measured, including water temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen. The results showed a difference in the water temperature of the samples under study, the water temperature was recorded at 33.9 °C, while the average pH value showed a weak basicity of the water, which was 8.3, and the average turbidity values were 10.0 NTU, while the electrical conductivity values were 480 microsiemens /cm And the average value of dissolved oxygen was 17.4 mg/liter.
