Synthesis and Characterization of Some New Azetidines and Azetidine-2-Ones

Abstract

This study is concerned with the synthesis and characterization of azitidiane derivatives. These compounds were prepared by reacting alkyl halides with (imines) by heating at 70-60°C in ethanol with moderate yields (51-75%).Also prepared azetidine-2- from Schiff base with ketene in Et3N in ethenol Spectroscopic studies using IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and Mass spectra.
